Assignments/Artifacts

I am forever grateful to be living and learning on the traditional, unceded territories of the Tk’emlúps te Secwe̓pemc People. I thank them for the use of their sacred land.

Lesson Plans

These plans were likely my two favourites, as I was able to utilize the one on creating a wreath of poppies in my practicum class and it went quite well. The PHE lesson plan is special as well as the subject of health and wellness is my true passion in life and I cannot wait to deliver lessons such as these to my future students.

Group Activity

This group activity was quite eye-opening in the sense that it broadened my educational perspectives by giving me another set of insights into Indigenous philosophies on education. I was tasked with coming up with an activity that encapsulated them and I felt I did okay but that I was simply scratching the surface of a new and huge concept in our profession.

Educational Timeline

This assignment was an interesting way to reflect on my journey in education and how it has helped grow me into the person I am today. It was neat to see that education comes from all walks of life and not just school; we learn from every single experience we have.

Photography/ELA Unit

I got a lovely opportunity to teach a photography unit to my long practicum students. I touched on all of the different artistic aspects of being a photographer such as depth, form, texture, shape, and line. The students enjoyed taking photos as well as learning about and seeing examples of these concepts. In the end, they combined our writing English Language Arts unit with this to create very sweet thank you cards for me after my practicum had ended. They printed their favourite photo and wrote me lovely paragraphs.
